ABOUT US
Down to Earth Engineers, Producers & Mixers
WHERE WE'RE COMING FROM

Our team has been recording and producing independent North American artists for over 20 years. Compromised of senior engineers, studio owners, graduated assistants, musicians and songwriters, we pride ourselves in fostering realistic careers with the track record to prove it. Our own senior engineers have been mentored by many professionals whose work we grew up listening to, being inspired and being influenced by. It became an incredibly important aspect to our ethos that we share this knowledge with the next generation and pass on the torch just as it had been passed on to us.

Spread out across Canada, our team has been walking the line between label projects and independent budgets for quite some time now. We came up in a time when the industry was shifting away from the large format studios and into laptops across the continent. We've released successful projects garnishing a sustainable profit for ourselves and the bands we've worked with in environments of all shapes and sizes. From million dollar control rooms to makeshift acoustically treated practice spaces, we have proven that knowledge and experience allows for profesional results wherever applied.

It is our belief that this timing has placed us smack dab in the middle of a crossroads armed with a unique skill set and perspective. Our team has much to offer the next generation about how to achieve professional content in any environment while also understanding how to create vintage workflows in a digital environment. As our team has been workhorse engineers themselves, we truly believe our approach to audio education helps arm our students with the ability to generate projects and sustain themselves without having to break into an industry that only 1% would ever get a chance to see. What matters most to our senior staff is that our trained engineers are able to live comfortably, happy with the income generated from independent projects as they work their way up shaking hands and networking. The time is now, not next year.

Embracing What's Happened to the Industry
POSTURING FOR THE FUTURE

It's never been a better time to dive into the art of audio engineering in so many ways. While those at the top of the pile have been crying foul about how the industry has been slowly crumbling, opportunities have arisen for more dedicated new comers to prosper. The fact of the matter is that there are more artists writing and recording demos than ever before. At one point in history there were only a dozen or so rooms that a quality production could be produced from. Today, the barrier between a professional release and a demo has a lot less to do with unattainable gear and more to do with understanding/experience.

While some would argue that this accessibility has created an over saturation of music, the modern engineer can also see that fact as opportunity knocking. More and more artists are taking projects to a half finished state and becoming frustrated with the recording, mixing and release stages of the project. This literally means that there are prospective projects all over the world if you go looking for them. Many of these artists are more than happy to enter a realistic budget with an engineer that demonstrates their ability to be organized, proficient and efficient with their production skills.

Nothing trumps real world experience, repetition of learned skills and the guidance of senior engineers. Our curriculum skips trying to wow prospective students with fancy overpriced studios that they'll have access to for a year. Instead, we focus firmly on expediting our class members with the skills necessary and real world production work to create amazing results no matter where they are working out of forever more. We guarantee that you'll be placed on the fast track to practical experience, soaking up theory and coming to find how project generation/collaboration is the key to realistic success after pandemic. Our full course will have you certified with a portfolio in a year's time and networking with our senior staff to start your own freelance career upon graduation.
